Ellen: Hi everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. And today we're taking a look at the K-Source Replacement Side Mirror. Now, this is going to be the mirror for our passenger side, and it's a custom fit for the 1984 through 1996 Jeep Cherokee, the 1986 through 1992 Jeep Comanche, and the 1984 through 1990 Jeep Wagoner. So, it should match up with your original mirror. It does have that manually adjusting remote, so we'll just turn that little knob to get our mirror where we want it to go.
It should match up with your original footprint and make it pretty easy to install. It does have a little grommet there to protect our vehicle from any kind of ingress of water, also helps to dampen any road noise. So you just pop your old mirror off, pop this new guy on there, and you should be ready to roll.Housing is made of a black plastic. Pretty durable as well. So, there's no drilling, or splicing, or anything like that with this mirror.
Just pops right in place of the old one. And it does have a breakaway design here, so if it does get struck, if you're on a narrow street or parking in your garage or something, and you happen to clip this mirror, it should fold in against your Jeep without it actually breaking off or snapping off. So, all in all, an easy way to replace that mirror on your Jeep, without having to worry about it not matching the rest of your vehicle. Etrailer ordering and delivery are great. The replacement outside mirror looks good and functions well however the fit to the body of the truck is not the best. There is a 1/8 to 1/4 inch gap between the body of the truck and mirror. Also it didn't have the rubber boots that keep water air out. I'm afraid it will leak water into the door or make a wind noise.
